Introducing Canton Public Safety’s Program Partners in Your Safety
Sunflower Village – Hanford Clubhouse
7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16th
You’ve see it in the newspaper and read about it online. Now you can participate in it right here in Sunflower Village!
Partners in Your Safety is a new neighborhood initiation designed to build partnerships with the Canton Public Safety Department. Together we will achieve a better and safer community in which we live.
All residents are invited to attend the next monthly Sunflower Village association meeting— on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 PM at the Hanford Clubhouse to— hear Canton Public Safety Community Relations Officer Patty Esselink introduce this new initiative to Sunflower residents.
In order to become a Partners in Your Safety neighborhood, Sunflower Village will need to meet three requirements:
Communication—Residents sign up to receive communications from the Canton Public Safety Department. You easily can do this by signing up to receive alerts from Nixle (http://nixle.com) or on the website Nextdoor (http://nextdoor.com). Residents who sign up for these services will receive updates, crime prevention tips and other important notices.
Information—Attend a crime prevention seminar hosted by the Canton Police Department. The topics will include, but are not limited to, protecting yourself from becoming a victim of burglary and larceny, personal safety, and recognizing suspicious behavior and circumstances.
Affirmation—Take the “Not in Our Town” pledge. “Not in Our Town” is a movement that stops hate, addresses bullying and builds safe, inclusive communities for everyone.
We encourage all Sunflower residents to participate in this worthy program. Due to limited space, we ask only Sunflower residents attend Officer Esselink’s presentation on March 16, and suggest residents arrive early enough to ensure a seat. If you are unable to attend, additional information can be found on the Sunflower website (www.sunflowercanton.com) or by calling the office at 453-2022. The regularly scheduled March association meeting will follow Officer Esselink’s presentation.
